
Each year, the USC Rossier School of Education invites an important figure in the field of higher education to deliver an address for its current students, graduates and friends on an important issue in the field. The Earl V. Pullias Lectureship in Higher Education is published and distributed for both a national and international audience. Past lectures include USC President Steven B. Sample, Carnegie Foundation President Ernest Boyer, former U.S. Secretary of Education Terrel Bell, University of California Chancellor David Gardner, and California State University Systems Chancellor Barry Munitz. The 2004 lecture, held live on the USC campus on October 12, 2004, is by Douglas Becker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Laureate Education, Inc. (formerly Sylvan Learning Systems.)
